discounts on 2010 dodge ram 3500?

We are considering a new 2010 Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4 dually. The truck we want to build is $54350 off the website.Has anyone purchased a new 2010 and what kind of discounts can one expect to get after beating the dealers up on price.

Go to Kelley Blue Book or Edmunds for dealer's invoice pricing. That's the absolute most I would pay. Do not let them charge you for the usual dealer scams such as paint sealant treatments, fabric protectant, advertising fees, etc. None of these charges are legit. They're dealer scams to make an extra thousand or so on you.

Don't know about Dodge, but Chevy would come down $10k off that price.

Regardless of what the dealer does, hold on to your shorts cause it's gonna be painful. We also want that new Dodge but I can't get by that price.

I just want to know what the difference is, assuming you are trading something in. When I tell the dealer all I want to know what the difference they sure go sideways. They all come back saying "how much do I want for mine and I tell them I want 20000 for mine and will give them 10000 for their sand they can write me a check for the difference. Sales manger had a fit and salemen fell on floor laughing, Good Luck and be patient

blarkman has the right idea. When I bought my '08 Chevy 3500, the dealer asked what I wanted for my trade, what I would pay for the new one. After I answered he said OK. Now I thought I got a fair deal but always wonder when a deIaler gives what you ask without the usual three hours of back and forth. I did get the Nav system, bed liner, side rails, mud flaps and dash mat thrown in for gratis. (I know, not really gratis). It was the last day of the month, which I feel is best time to buy because of dealer contests and corporate incentives. Regardless, I love the truck and plan on keeping it for a long time.....OR until I break it, whichever comes first.......Plus, I don't mind supporting an American Company......

et2, the discount off list price is as follows; invoice 9%, supplier 10% and employee 13.4% Then from time to time they will have additional discounts.

Well I checked KBB and they say invoice is about 49,500. That would be about $4850 off sticker. I have asked this same question on RV.net and I hear people saying look for up to $10,000 dollars off.

Is there much more to be saved than $4850. Considering the truck is just hitting the dealers floors, anymore discounts might be to early in the model year???

Also ... if we order what is a customary deposit. Is the loan approved up front? How long would delivery be? We have a time frame to beat. It's called vacation

unless you have a newer type truck to trade in they dont give you much on trade in value they dont want the hassel with smog on any vehicle. my 96 was in very good condition no dent paint good but it was a 96 they dont even mess with them here in Calif. 2500 is the most I could get even from Ford. I would ask for 30% off invoice, all they can say is no.

The $10,000 off thing includes factory cash rebates offered instead of special financing options such as 0% for 60 months. If you are financing the bulk of the price it is better to pass on the cash rebates and take the financing. There's nothing wrong with insisting you want $7000 off of that list price. If the dealer won't agree go home and wait a few days. You'll get a call. As far as ordering and your deadline if it is a concern get the dealer to locate a truck fitting your needs and trade another dealer for it. That way you can get it now.

The markup on trucks is no where near the markup on RVs. 30% off is too much to expect on a truck. Now days 15% is tough to get at least where I live.

If possible do not trade...the dealer will kill you on a trade. I sold my last pick up on Ebay and did much better than I would have on a trade.

When I bought the 2007 I had the X plan and also a factory $3500 rebate. Sticker on this truck in May 2007 was $56,555 and I bought it for around $42k, if I recall correctly. Close to that, anyhow. Then we had a tradein after that.

In January I tried to trade in my '04 Dodge 2500 w/cummins on a '07 Dodge cummins 3500 dually at a dealership here in Alaska. My '04, according to NADA and Edmunds was worth $20K (clean retail). The dealership said they'd give me around $14K trade in and not lower the price of their used '07 which they had listed at $31,500. It took all my self control to not slap the salesman. If that's where they start we'll never arrive at a deal. I just walked out - sold my truck a week later for $20K (for a quick sale)and bought a private party's '07 cummins dually with 45000 miles and perfect shape for $27K. I'm done with car dealers. This is the first time I've not bought new but I'm done making payments. The first owner of my 07 Paid $57000 for it new in '07...3 years later and $30K lighter he sold it to me. $30K is a lot to pay for 45000 miles - it cost him something around 67 cents per mile in straight depreciation without figuring the cost of fuel and routine maintenance. I'm just retiring and I think this will be the last truck I buy and I expect to put on a lot of miles leading our Monty down the highway. It's now just a question of whether me or the Dodge drops dead first.

You might try Cars Direct. I got my F350 from them back in 2001. Here is your truck for $46,678 starting price.. just need to pick colors and options, they will tell you what they have, and the price. I had to drive about 90 miles to pick my truck up, but the process was painless.

Just bought a new Dodge 3500. Current incentives are $1000 off or 1.9 percent over 60 months. Also might get $500 off if you are retired or active duty military. Price should be his invoice or a few hundred below that. Your price sounds about right. Mine took 12 weeks to get here, but that included the Christmas New Year holiday. Incentives should get better as their inventory builds, but that is up to mfg. Dodge Cummins are pretty popular. DRW long bed is not a bad idea if you plan on pulling one of the larger Montanas. Good luck.
