Spare tire on 3295

We have the 2004 3295 The spare tire came a little loose this past week. Some one noticed it when I was backing in. Can come one tell me what kind of setup this is What keeps the cable tight. There seems to be some kind of plastic piece above the tire Sure has me puzzled. Can't find a thing in the manual.

If I remember correctly the access for the tire tool is on the drivers side of the rig. It is even with the spare tire. You insert the tool and turn to make it go up or down. The spare tire is on a cable assembly. My rig is in the shop or I'd go out and check it for you but I seem to remember this info from when we had our blow-out. And it might be one of the other tools..... CRS sure can be a frustrating problem sometime!

We have a 2002 3295 and there is supposed to be a crank with your rig. It looks like it has a pin thru the end of it. That raises the tire. If you don't have one you should be able to turn the shaft from under the rig with a pipe wrench or vise grip, Etc. Lot's of luck.

Yes I have the tool but wanted to know if anything makes sure the cable doesn't come loose. I turned the rod and the tire tightened up but am wondering what made it come loose and drop a little.

Ron, I don't have the answer but if you find out the answer from a source outside the forum would you please post it here for benefit of the rest of us? I've never given this one any thought. And never had the spare assembly drop. Thanks.

Al always checks the tire by wiggling it, or reaching under there and giving it a shove with his foot. He mentioned to me that if it wiggled, he would be concerned that the spare might be flat.

I am not sure this is relavent to this discussion, but, thought I would throw it in for consideration.

Carol, I never thought of checking inflation that way but it makes sense it would loosen up if it lost enough air. I've added this to my procedures now. Thanks.
