I bought the Kindle 3G WiFi after a lot of research and recommendations from friends, and use it a lot, even for checking email and weather online when we are on the road (it's cumbersome and slow to use online, but it's not a computer in the real sense but gets the job done) We both have laptops so I set up a WiFi system in both the Monty and at home. I bought mine in Mesa and it works here in Canada as well. At least here in B.C. anyways.
Also Amazon supplies the 3G for Free.

Too revive a dead subject, I have a rooted NookColor, Mary's is a Kindle. Rooting turns the NC into an inexpensive tablet/ereader.

Got the Kindle, been so busy I haven't used it yet. Too thick-headed to figure it out in the short time I have looked at it. Later, on the road I will have time.
We got a small clip for it they said I should have, also the plastic deal so it can lay on it.

I'm really enjoying my Kindle. I burned through the "Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins in a week.

I recently read the Kindle is to add the E Reader software to allow for renting from libraries. I might have to buy one soon.

My wife and I both have Barnes & Noble Nooks. I recently bought the Motorola Xoom and started using the Android version of the Nook application so will likely give my original Nook to my daughter. We love the Nook, its features, and book availability.
