DDD - Dumpster Diving Dad

Talk about being ridiculed for days, from all the women (DW and DD's!!). While we were camping last week, I made an observation that another camper had decided to discard a wood burning type of outdoor stove (barrel type with round screen surrounding it and a steel lid on top) because one of the legs had broken off. The lid attracted my interest as I watched the discarded hunk of metal for two days beside the campground dumpster. Finally, I had to act!! The lid worked perfect on our fire bowl, and I could see an immediate use for it by enclosing the fire completely at the end of the evening. No extinguishing needed since it was a solid lid that completely covers the fire bowl. I added it to our collection of stuff that is constantly added to our camping list. Yard sales are fine for discounts but in an episode of cheapness, I bettered that with a free fire bowl lid. Gotta admit, DDD - Dumpster Diving Dad has a nice ring to it. DW says she truly hopes it is an isolated incident!!

I guess that we will all need to hide our stuff at the rally now that you have the fever.

So when do you paint the Monty the same color as the garbage trucks? You do need another project, right?

Heck, it would be easier to paint the garbage trucks, they don't have all the decals!!!
