We had a Golden similar in color (rest her soul). I could throw a ball once and she would quickly retreive it to me. Throw it again and she would get it and bring it back a little more slowly. Throw it again and she would get it and hide it in the shrubs. She would do that every time I tried it. Decided she gave me two chances and she wasn't going to do it again I guess.
