RV Tracker

Good morning folks,

I stumbled across this site/program when directed there by another RV group to which I belong. Here’s what I have found. The program is called RV Tracker. It was created by a full-timer who has worked on it for many years. He is the sort who likes to record everything and had several Excel workbooks that he used for his personal information. His wife encouraged him to combine them all into one format. That is what he has done. He is now offering it for FREE to other RVers.

“During our travels we have met some of the most fascinating, friendliest, and gracious people in RV Parks and Campgrounds. This is our way of giving back or paying it forward.”

https://sites.google.com/site/thervtracker/home Please take a look at it and tell me what you think about it.

After perusing the website, I see that he has a form for the different types of RVs – including 5th wheel and tow vehicles. You do need Excel to use it fully as other database programs will not allow some parts to work properly. Most of us probably have Excel. You can ask him questions about the program as he has given out his email address. You can get it two ways – by him emailing it to you as an attachment or by buying a CD for the very modest price of $5.50 (to cover the cost of the cd, label, cover and postage).

Here is what it contains - “The Greatest Feature of this program is that it brings together, all in one place, all aspects of RVing. Whether it's recording data, keeping important records about your RV, or information files such as RV Park/Campground Locations, Fueling Locations, RV Popular Shopping Locations, and too many others to list here. This can be kept on a laptop computer, iPad, even a SmartPhone (with Excel app) right by your side while traveling. Great Tool for your Co-Pilot or Navigator. You don't have to be online to use it even though there are hundreds of Internet links embedded in the program for use when you are connected.”

This is a never ending program as there will be updates as they happen. He welcomes additions or improvement ideas.

I find this very interesting! We are starting to set up files for data but ... why reinvent the wheel???

Best – Lynne

Wow....it is on the way, but downloaded some of their sample files. What a great effort. I use to use a program called Control Panel, but this program is so comprehensive. It has just about everything. Check it out! Thanks Walt!

I'm glad you like it, Captain Joe! Walt just downloaded it and thinks it is great as well. It sure is better than reinventing the wheel! Cudos to the Marine who put it together. Many, many thanks.

If a MAC can run Microsoft Excel, then this should work. Best of all, IT IS FREE; however, a donation would be nice to thank him for his effort.

I contacted B.W. via email and he set up a download zip file (MAC can handle zip files) and I was able to download the files. The .exe files will not run on a MAC unless you are on a dual processor and have a Windows partition running alongside the MAC software. But yes, MS Excel for MAC will work. I have that, but I have not re-installed after a crash. (MAC CRASH? Heaven forbid, but it did!)

I was able to open the excel files with Open office, but as stated on the web site, the graphics are "different."

And a hearty Semper Fi back to you boywonder, and champ-49.

Charlie 2 for 200 days, 1 click South of the DMZ, then Hill 55 for 5 months till end of tour. (In country July 68-Aug 69. That was enough.)

Indy Roadrunner, You can email me at: rvtrackerprogram@gmail.com and tell me what type RV you have (I assume its the 5th Wheel in your picture). Then I'll send you a download link. You can visit our site: https://sites.google.com/site/thervtracker/ for all the details on how to install it. It will come to you in whats called a ZIP File package and you will need to "unzip" it on your computer. It will contain 5 files to put into a dedicated folder. Don't let all this scare you, its really not that hard. If you have any problems, email me and we'll help. We also have video tutorials on our website showing exactly how its done: https://sites.google.com/site/thervt...cker-tutorials
