Axle ratio
How can I find the axle ratio of a used truck?

The dealer can tell you by looking at it or by telling you what to look for on the axle. You might also want to know if it is a lock up or limited slip diffy too.

GM trucks will have the RPO code of the axle on the sticker in the glove box. A simple search online will provide a list of RPO's and what ratio each is.

Also, GM Duramax diesels only come with the 11.5" Eaton locker 3.73:1 ratio in the 2500HD/3500HD trucks.

One of the numbers/letters on the VIN will tell you.

Call a service department with the vin number. They will be able to tell you from it.

The VIN will provide the info for the dealer to tell you.
