Bedroom Slide

Don't know if I would tackle this job myself. Can the floor in the bedroom slide be replaced without removing the slide from the unit?
John

John-- I have never seen a slide floor repaired or replaced without the slide actually being removed from the unit. There may be more informative individuals here but as far as I know that is the only way of repairing/replacing a bedroom slide floor!

We just did our bedroom slide and in our case I took it out and worked on it in the shop. On our unit it would of been impossible to do in place because there was a 2x4 frame work that could not be worked from below. I will look and see if I have installed some of the photos in my photos link on my signature. If not I will and they will be at the end of the group. It is not hard to pull the slide out I had ours out and in the shop within a couple of hrs. with a little help removing.
I looked and they are there in the link.

Some time ago I saw a video on the internet that showed a floor replacement without replacing the slide. But it was done at a dealership. Depending on the floor condition, it may be feasible to lay a second floor over the original if structurally sound. Have been a post or two describing that on this forum.

I'll take a closer look at planning, & decide what to do. Looks to me like the most difficult task is getting the slide out, & onto a work space. Great photos Drifty, wish I had your talent.

How did you get the slide out. I know what to remove, just not how to lift it. I thought it would take a fork lift.

I helped a neighbor in Florida two winters ago remove a slide. We set three sawhorses with a sheet of plywood next to the rig and slid the slide out onto the platform. Three of us. Getting it back in was trickier because we had to go up and in, but once on the hydraulic posts not too bad.
