Back button sick??

OK, maybe it is just me and the new computer??

When I am reading a thread, and then go to the back button on the browser, sometimes I get back to the previous page ok. Other times, I get one of those WHITE WARNING pages, this page has expired, da da da, etc. etc. etc.

I recently reset my cookies, as I was having a TON of trouble with the forum after the latest update, but that did not seem to fix this situation.

Note, it does not happen every time??

Suggestions???

Carol

Mine just started doing the same thing. Just click on the "Retry" and it will go back without a problem.

I used to get that on rare occasions but recently it's been a lot more frequent.

I haven't had that happen yet. I sure hope it doesn't start to show up. At any rate thank you for the heads up. At least I will have an idea of what's happening and not think something is messed up here on my computer.

Well, the back button is even sicker! Seems to give me the dead (expired) page warning every time now. Shoot, it gets old REAL fast! SIGH

Not sure this will help but when was the last time you deleted your "Temporary Internet Files".
Just after I posted the reply above I deleted the files and have not had the Warning page since.
Could be just coincidental but what the heck...
On Internet Explorer...
Click on Tools than Internet Options,
In the box Temporary Internet Files click on "Delete Files" than click "OK"

I have never had the back button problem. Guess I am one of the lucky ones.

For those of you wondering...... The "back" button is NOT a function of the MOC Forum. We have no control of that process.

RVWheels,

That is what is so frustrating, THE only web site I was having trouble with was MOC. I think that makes MOC even MORE special than before!

I don't profess to understand, I know that BACK is a function of IE, NOT MOC, but why only here. Computers, gotta love em, gotta hate em! I did dump the temp files, as Glenn suggested, and am hoping for the best!

Hope you are all warm and dry and safe and enjoying your Montanas. Ours is out in the drive covered with a lite dusting of snow again. That would be OK if we were in Gaylord and skiing! HA.

Cheers,

Carol

This really is wierd. I agree with RVWHEELS that MOC has no connection with the back button and vice-versa. Yet, Vicki has been having this same problem the past two days and it happens only with MOC. My computer does not have this problem. And now we hear others are having this problem with MOC.

Well, it's back this morning! At least today I only have to click one thing ... so far. This is really frustrating.

Vicki and Glenn,

I did what Glenn suggested, I dumped all my temporary files, it took almost 2 minutes! GULP! When I dumped the cookies it only took, 10 to 15 seconds.

ANYWAY, so far, and I say that SO FAR, since I dumped the temporary files I have not had a re-occurance of the WHITE page of death! And, some other sites I use, loaded a lot faster yesterday than they had been.

And, this 'puter is only 3 months old. Geesh, I must have been playing a lot harder than I thought I had been.

I try to dump them daily but I do suffer CRS syndrome so I do tend to forget for days and even a week at a time.

Getting rid of all that garbage will definitely speed things up and now that we have discussed it I better do it.

Ahhhh much better.

I wasn't having a problem, but thought I'd delete mine also. Must have been quite a few, cause it took a few minutes. Thanks, Glenn.
