How can I eliminate pictures, etc. in signatures?

Sometimes I like to copy advice & ideas in form. However, because of the signatures, drawings etc. a 3 page response becomes 6 or more. Is there any way that when printing that all pictures, etc. can be eliminated?

Just hi-light the TEXT you want to copy and not the entire post/reply.

While the TEXT remains hi-lited
Click on File in the upper left corner of your screen.
Select Print
Check Selection
Click Print

Glenn,

I think he is talking about printing a whole thread of responses without all the sig. file pictures, can you do that? I find that a problem too.

Well you can go to
Tools
Internet Options
Click on Advanced
Scroll down to Multimedia and UNcheck Show Pictures
Click Apply

NO Graphics at all will appear on the entire forum but you will be using a lot of color ink and paper by printing the entire thread when you could select and print just the posts and replys that actually do contribute to the info you want and none of the other chatter.

There is a printer friendly icon here on the forum. Click on that and it brings up a window with just text. Then you can scroll through the pages and either print all of them or just print the pages you want. When you click on print just tell which page or pages to print. I do this a lot to save suggestions, directions, phone number etc. We would have never got the CCC installed without those wonderful instructions provided by members.

Highlighting only works for one response! What does the MOC Forum leader have to say about this dilema? I have Netscape and no matter what I try I can't find "text only".

syplace, At one time there was a option in your profile that would allow you to turn off signatures but for some reason it has been removed. I do not know why and wish that it would be put back I used it because I am on dial up and it takes a long time for all the pictures to load. With that option checked all you would see or print is text. Maybe Admin will let us know what happen.

Thanks Glen. I used to print and not get all those pictures (takes a lot of Ink, and being sort of "tight" I don't like all the pictures) Now I can try this new way. I was just getting ready to ask this same question when I found this posting.

I just tried the printer friendly and it has changed. It did not use to show the pictures. "Printer Friendly" on other sites means without graphics. I have tons of stuff I printer several months or year ago that are only text. We would never have completed the installation of the CCC without the wonderful instructions that I printed from the forum. I printed all the info for the Apollo 1/2 time fix in June so it has been in the last couple of months that it changed.
Can we have the true printer friendly back, please?

Parrothead. Amen to the old "printer friendly" way.
