1 lb. ground beef
4 tbsp. shortening or margarine
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cups cabbage, shredded
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. chopped hot pepper, (optional)
Fry onion and ground beef in heavy skillet for a few minutes before adding cabbage.
Add cabbage, season and hot peppers (optional), stirring to keep from scorching. When tender, remove from fire and cool.
For the crust, use bread dough, hot roll mix, frozen or your own. Roll dough pieces about 7" square. Put in 3 tbsp. filling and wrap around and pinch to keep closed, bake 25 minutes or until golden brown at 375 degrees
