If the camper feels like it is jerking when you apply the brakes, the camper brakes are probably actuating too soon. I don't know what kind of brake controller you have, but with our Prodigy if the boost is set on 3, the camper does jerk when braking. Backing the boost off to 2 seems to solve the problem. Be sure to so the 25 mph set-up procedure that is described in the brake controller owner's manual, to insure that the controller is set properly. I hope this is all that it will take to solve your problems, if not let us know and I am sure some brake experts will chime in. I am merely trying to help by giving our experience.

We have the IBC in the 08 Ford and the brakes are as smooth as silk. Perhaps you need a brake adjustment???

Are you showing any error code with your brake controller - SO or OL?

Your brake controller is probably adjusted too high. If you want to leave it as is, then just barely touch your brake pedal and you won't feel the jerking. For me, I adjust my Prodigy so that the Montana brakes begin to engage before the truck brakes. Remember, the brakes on the rig are magnetically controlled and the magnet begins to drag as you press the brakes. This pushes the brake shoes against the drums.

Our controller has two settings , one for lock up(the little slide up front) and a second wheel(on the side of the controller) that controls the relationship between truck brakes and trailer brakes. I carry a setup sheet in the truck because, it's a seperate procedure for each setting and it needs to be done each time I hook up. Just a side note, go ahead and take some time to list your rig(trk, trailer, options) in your signature and or profile. It has helped others give me pointers because they knew my rig and it keeps me from listing them on each post. Even with the setup,I experiance the same problem as you do but then again I've only made a few trips and I feel this will improve with experiance....Steve

Have you had your break adjusted?
Our best friends and us purchased two identical 2007 3400RLs. Our friends had their breaks checked under the first year warranty this spring only to find that their breaks were 14 clicks out of adjustment...thus he had no breaks during all the trips we took that first year. His 2005 F350 was doing all the breaking. It is a good idea to have them checked on or during the PDI.
