Shore power stations for dry camping.

This last weekend we were wandering north from the rally in Jackson back to the Olympia Wa. area with Jack Lyons and spent the night at the Sevenfeathers Casino Resort. While riding to the casino on the shuttle Jack was talking to me about parking in the truck overnight parking on the way down south and how hot it was at 100* .. The shuttle driver mention that they had power stations at this upper lot and it cost $2 to turn the post on and $1 per hour after that.. This is done with a credit card and you can tell it how mant hour you want power and then shuts off. On the way out of town I stopped to check out these power station to confirm they do have 30 amp service. After looking up www.shorepower.com I see there are many stations that have this service and more to come.. I would say a person would have to keep your slides in but if that is not a problem it could save some money when running up and down I-5.. Here is a link to locations..

These power stations and others that actually have external A/C systems and flexible ducting to run into the cab of a big rig, are all driven by laws that make it illegal to idle the diesel engines over, I think 5 minutes. When working for the electric utility, I powered up the station north of Madera at Hwy 99 and Ave 18 1/2, and this is one that has the external A/C system.

Saw some in maine as well, but we didn't stay long enough to make use of the service. John

Larry,
Thanks for stopping and checking out the power outlets. Next time I am doing a run down I-5, overnight in the truck area and need electricity I will give it a try. It was good spending a couple extra days with you and Deb.

Thanks again for everything!
Jack
