Why Ford ever thought a 26 gallon tank in an F350 6.7 is beyond me! They changed to a bigger one in 2017 models, 1 year too late for me.

My 2000 f350 crew cab had a 28 gallon tank, after pulling the tank and doing a HUTCH MODIFICATION it went to a 40 gallon tank. No cost I had the fittings. Google it, maybe it will work on your year ford

my aux tank takes up half of my toolbox, and has a 12 volt pump that transfers to main tank, the pump is just a diesel aux fuel pump, also installed a fuel gauge to cab, pumps not the fastest in the world. thinking of building a larger tank to get me to 80 gallons total.don't keep that much in tool box, tool box is where I installed my 120v inverter, and 12 volt charger for battery tools

The only Chevy that camps with us is a'07 CC 4x4 SB Duramax and it only has a 26 gallon tank in it from the factory. Ken really had no choice, so he put in a 55g in bed aux tank to make past the next exit.

We installed a 90 gallon WeatherGuard L shaped tank in our 2012 Ram 3500 DRW 4x4 and just love it. Our tank was used, found it on Craigslist, and came with a 15 GPM pump. When we stop at rest areas to change fluids, we add to our 35 gallon main tank as needed. Very seldom do we need to fuel when the 5er is hooked up.

I know some people can't justify putting in a larger tank in the OEM place like I did, but it is all about what it's worth to each person. Having only a 32 gallon tank sucked, and I was always looking for places to fill up, but nobody across the country knows the height of their overhang, so I started carrying 2 five gallon cans and used a long black plastic funnel, and took the safety nozzle off of the cans, and just poured into the funnel. But now knowing, since we rarely drive 400 miles on a leg, I never need to worry about filling up again with the 5ver attached. The 55 gallon Titan tank in the OEM spot underneath with a protective kevlar shield, is worth the money to "me", because it is piece of mind. Although 50 bottles of bourbon is also tempting too!!

No thanks, I'm not getting myself and my wife in spot where I have to pour 5 or 10 gallons in my tank. That sounds a little crazy,To each his own.

Mel, I will stop carrying the extra 10 gallons of diesel fuel on my next trip. I just wanted to make sure there were no hiccups from this 55 gallon Titan tank. Since the fuel Gage is not accurate anymore. When I fill up, it stays above full for 150 miles before it starts counting down, and when the low fuel light comes on, I still have 10 gallons left in the tank. Just making sure the readings are accurate, and trustworthy, before I give up my safety net with the two extra cans I carry. I have a 500 mile range now with 50 miles of reserve, and our furthest leg of about 50 legs so far, was 450 miles. Usually we are right around 350 miles per leg.

Well the land is there it's just a little chard. We couldn't have picked a worse time. We called and talked to a realastate salesman and a RV resort owner on Tuesday morning and was told the fires and smoke were on I 5 and west. HWY. 97 was clear, well we pulled into Klamath Falls on 09/06/2017 and the smoke was the worst we have ever seen. Everyone was wearing masks, every store was sold out of masks. We turned around and started back southbound, the smoke was really affecting my wifes lungs. So back to the tank, it was the best thing since sliced bread. Having the ability to carry 117 gallons of fuel is great. We traveled over 1200 miles and fueled up 3 times and we got home yesterday with my 40 gallon main tank still full and about 30 gallons in my 77 gallon aux. tank. So nice being able to pass so many stations. The bottom line is I'll be keeping the tank. Next I'll post about my broken leaf spring on my 2955RL rear axle.

I keep hearing about these broken leaf springs? Is it obvious, or is it just a hairline crack. Take a pic, so we can see. Thanks

A little extra fuel is always a good thing. I installed the 50 gal Titan tank pulling the 26 gal OEM tank. Even when not pulling the rig it comes in handy. Some of the places I hunt, the nearest fuel is over an hour away.

Yes, it's like that here all the time. Be sure and tell any other Californians thinking of making the move North. 😀 Arizona still beckons!

I think we're coming back up in October. without the 5ver. We're looking for 40+ acres , then we can apply for LOP tags (land owner preference tags), 2 deer tags and 2 elk tags either sex. The plan was to retire to our property in Wash. on the Canadian border. But my wife doesn't want to move that far away from thr grandkids, so that leaves Oregon. So blame her. I would much rather be building a house on our property in Washington state,I had a road cut in last year. But Oregon I can drive her back to see the grandkids in one day, so thats the plan. Back to the tank, yes having extra fuel can't be beat. With or without the 5ver. VERY nice.

After much searching and debating I finally ordered a tank. As I said earlier, I just couldn't justify the Titan in my mind having a long bed and it only adding 28 gallons for the $1150-1300 cost. Since I already have a toolbox in the truck I thought about the "L" tanks that had already been mentioned, but I wanted to keep that area free for extra firewood and things I wanted to keep there, so I ended up with a Fuel Shotz tank from Pickup Specialties. And since I already have the toolbox, I didn't care if it sticks up above the bed rails. The tank is 51 gallons that came with the install kit and I've bought a 12v valve to control it. The tank was $675 delivered and the valve was $33 off Ebay. Now, I just have to get it put in.

The tank is in and operating. I wired the electric valve to the #3 upfitter switch so I can turn it on and refuel while traveling. The truck now holds a total of 88 gallons of fuel. That added another 408 pound of weight to the bed. Glad she's a dually.

No one herd of Gas Buddy? I start looking for fuel when I am down to 100 miles left in the tank. thats about 2 hours of driving. I find no reason to add that much weight to the truck for extra fuel. Been on 2 three month trips and no fuel problems at all. Last trip was 14,000 miles

I use that after the Pilot/Flying J app. Finding 10 diesel stations a 43' 5er cannot maneuver in/out of is not my 1st choice. I have not had a chance to use Trucker Path app yet.

My wife and I have found that by the time you see a diesel station tall enough to get under the overhang, you have passed it on the freeway. Then if you take a chance and exit the freeway, and come up to a questionable clearance height, that is not posted, and then you go in and ask them how how their overhang is, 75% of the people we have asked, have no idea. So I would just top off my small 32 gallon tank at a rest stop with my two 5 gallon cans, and then when I am unhooked at the campsite, fill up the truck for the next leg. But now that I have the Titan 55 gallon tank where the OEM tank was, I don't even think about refueling while hooked up.
