thought I was protecting Monte

We always store our Monte behind our pole barn in winter to protect it from direct winds from the west. Kept old unit inside, forgot to measure Monte height before buying :-(. Went out last week to back garage, while walking by found Monte on her knees!! There was such a snow load on the barn roof,it all came off at once,so fast it hit side and pushed it off the blocking!! dropped about 10 inches. Moved it about 2 feet sideways. There was about 4 feet of snow along side. Took bucket tractor and spent a while moving all the snow along side. Good thing it did not break any glass, but cant see the legs yet or drain pipes. Might have saved damage due to the fact it was on wood, and was able to move. Next year farther away from barn. Lesson learned...

Yes, you need to park much farther away from the barn. Florida or Texas or Arizona would be good.

Hard to believe the number of things you guys have suffered thru this winter. Keeps me happy we're full timing however.

It has been a long winter. But after that trip to Scottsdale I think in a few more years we will be doing the snowbird thing.

Can't beat the Snow Bird route. We haven't missed the Western New York winters in the least.

small update, Ins. company said no problem if there is any damage to the legs or slides, they came out to inspect and take pictures. will find out shortly after I can put batt. in and move it. Also after snow melted saw that it moved the whole camper, pushed the tires off the boards too. That is one heck of a sideways push!! Glad it was on boards so it could move.

JLB, good idea!!! I have thought of that, did not know how well it worked.. I can see where it almost snow proofs the trailer :-) In about 3, 3 1/2 years we too will be building something like you did....
Rich, good to get away from it all. We hope to match that shortly.
