Montana 3120RL - Weight with Options

We just ordered a 2022 Montana 3120RL with Legacy Package and Super Solar Flex. The Keystone website lists the shipping weight of the basic 3120RL (12,056 lbs) and hitch weight (2,280 lbs), but not the weight with all the optional items. The dealer (so far) has not been able to determine the weights. Does anybody have a similar setup and know the numbers?

Scott,

Unless you don't carry much I would plan on a weight of 15-16K and a pin weight of 3-3.2K. You will not really know until you weigh it as you typically load it. I would guess the solar adds less than 500 lbs - similar to a tank of water.

The battery bank is moved back aft so the pin weight may be less than a non solar rig.

Your 3120RL is very similar to our 3160RL, while we don’t have solar but we do full time. My pin weight on my last weigh was 4480, axle weigh was 12,340.

General rule of thumb is to use the GVWR for estimating and 23% of that as loaded pin weight.

Yours is about 16,300 GVWR with an approximate pin weight of 3700 lbs. You won't know your real numbers until you load it and haul it across a scale.

I would go with Dad’s Hemi’s weights. The 3160 is the dyslexic predecessor to the 3120. The refrigerator/TV and theatre seating/table sides are flipped. Between the increased weight of solar panels and the decreased battery weight of the lithium batteries should be a wash.
