I have a 2018 358BH High Country. We like to store things in the back bunk room when we are not using it, like bottled water, and some other heavier items. Lets say it all weighs 200 pounds. Its near, or at the back wall of the RV. How much weight does it take off the pin? I would think it would take off most of the 200 pounds off the pin but not sure. Anyone know? Is there a formula? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

Water

Think of the 5th wheel as a tedder totter and your axles as the center pivot point. The farther from the center at one end the more can be lifted at the other. It is not a 1:1 ratio.
Here is what I found last fall before heading out.
Water- 50 gal = 417 pounds
Fully loaded for trip and full of water(at rear of rig) I weighed then drained all the water and got right back on scales.
The 417lbs of water made my king pin weight 320lbs lighter. However the 417lbs in the back also increased my axle weight by 680 lbs. This number is greater than the weight of the water because you consider the weight of the water and the tedder totter affect of lifting the weight off the truck. FYI the total weight of the truck and trailer changed by .... 418 LBS.
If you want to save weight get rid of the glass door, I did (65lbs) and I put in a Nautilus (7lbs)

I also keep some heavy items under the rear sofa.

Now all we need is a pic of the door jamb sticker to compare pin weight to the max weight allowed. And, the weights for max axle weight.

He should be fat with his DRW 3500.

I went looking for the weight/load sticker that has always been on the drivers door post, and either I could not find the one I was expecting. I found the tire load sticker there. Maybe they are doing the load sticker differently now. I took pictures of every sticker and paragraph I could find dealing with weight and weight limits. See the pic below. Click on the pic and you can read the numbers.

And while I am at it - I could not find my RPO sticker either. It is not in the glove box. I did not see it under the hood. Beats me where they put it.

According to the numbers, I calculate a capacity of 3925 lbs. Your pin weight is 3780 leaving 145 lbs. to spare. I'm a product of a public education so please chime in if I'm wrong. One thing, the gvwr on the pic seems light for a dually.

Hey Chevy 3500 folks….
Any idea where I might find the weights sticker?
Or the RPO codes sticker?

The payload on my '18 High Country Dually Crew Cab is 4930. That 3925 sounds more in line with a 3500 SRW Truck.
I would wonder if someone put on the wrong sticker. They did that to our current RV, we had ordered the 17.5 H rated tires and wheels, but they installed the sticker for the 16" G rated tires. Took a bit but finally got the right sticker.

Look at my tire sticker…it says 4713 lbs and it shows 17” tires…but what exactly is that?
The sticker inside the glove box says 3963 lbs…why the difference in the two?

The chart from the owners manual says GCWR is 16,600 lbs.
How does that relate to the numbers shown on the CAT scale?
Thanks for the schooling’!
