MORryde Shear Springs

I posted this on a thread I already started, but thought I would start a new one to make sure some are aware of the problem I came across on mine.

I have a 2008 3400RL , supposedly 7K axles, 15500 GVWR. At least thats what is on the sticker on the left front of the fifth wheel . Ordered and received new shear springs for 7K axles. Pulled off the left side shear spring today and to my surprise had a 6K shear spring, the number 16 molded into the rubber.

There is one possibility here, when mine was built they were using the lesser density rubber on the 7K axles, doubtful . IMO, its either I got 6k axles , and the correct shear springs for the axle, or I have the correct 7K axles ,and the wrong shear springs, either case MONTANA messed up . :face palm:

I don't know how to tell the difference in 6K, and 7K axles, something I will have to find out . On edit, that was easy enough 6K are 6 lug as far as I can tell . Mine are eight lug

Not exactly. My 2005 2955 had 5280 axles (downgraded 6K one) and it had the 8 bolt pattern. The best way is to crawl underneath and find the stamp indicating the rating.

Now that is heart warming, pretty sure I have the 7K axles, but I will sure look, I spent awhile underneath today Where would the stamp be, in the tube itself ??

It is stamped in middle of axle. Should be 52,60 or 70 indicating 5200,6000 or 7000. Take sand paper to clean rust as number is hard to see. I have 6000 and have 8 lug wheels.
