New Refer installed but need inverter.

I have searched for help on this subject and maybe i missed it, as we have installed a new Frigidaire in place of the Norcold and now we would like to hook it up to an inverter. We are not boon docking at all and have a genset, but if we have to bug out due to a hurricane i need it to run on the battery at least while we are traveling. Is there a kit or list someone has put together on the site and maybe along with some kind of instructions to help us get the job done and maybe even some ideas on what brand of inverter to buy. Thank you in advance.

Do you just want to run the fridge, or power some outlets as well?

If you just need to power the fridge, a 750-1500 watt inverter will do the job, it just needs to handle the peak power required to start the compressor which depends on your fridge.

A model that supports auto transfer will probably be your main concern besides peak wattage. That way it will automatically switch to batteries when AC is disconnected, and back to AC when it's reconnected.
Look for a model with a remote control that lets you disable the inverter when you don't want it to switch over.

I have a 3791RD and the factory installed a 1000 Watt inverter for my residential fridge. I think 1000 is plenty to run the fridge but if you want to run more then you would need a bigger one. I also believe your truck should keep a charge on the batteries while driving. The dealer also installed 2 batteries because of the fridge as well so if you already have 2 then I think your fine if you only have 1 then I would add another.

If the fridge is at temp (cold/freezing) than it will stay cold for quite some time just like your home fridge when the power goes out. Just do not open the door.
