Well, they are paying

Got an email this morning:
Don't know if they got the demand letter or not.

Jim,
After much disucssion and prayer, our Team has decided to pay your invoice.
Per your offer allowing us to make payments, and because our church
treasurer is unavailable until Monday, we will pay half on Monday, July 23'd and the remaining no later than August 31.
I trust this meets with your approval.
Rev. Dale Walling

My response:
Dale,
My wife and I thank you. We haven't slept much since this happened, it will be good for all of us to put it behind us.
As I said, you are a good man, and the church is lucky to have you. (I told you that, when this deal was still up in the air)
Jim

Ozz, just remember in the future: No good deed shall go unpunished. I learned this early on.

Joyce being a pastor, over the years we've seen a few of these kind of deals. My favorite was the church who dumped the company they had been doing business with forever to go with a church member for a new set of furnaces and AC's. The next Sunday I was asked to look into the problem of fumes in the nursery. Turns out the system was installed improperly and exhaust gases were being sent to the building via the nursery. There were also wiring issues I discovered. The church board didn't want to be embarrassed over their decision so they insisted that the company they had used for years come at night to fix the problems. That company did it, but I'm not sure I would have.

Guess I am the odd man out here. I do not understand why we all need to hear about your business issues. Not to start anything but I think this forum is for other things. Just my opinion.

And you are entitled to your opinion.
I feel like the Montana group are my friends, I try and help them when I can, I needed someone to share my problem with.
With all due respect to you, If you do not like what I post. Don't click on the post. I really don't think I was out of order, so to speak. I posted in the proper place, unless what I posted is not proper. And I can't figure out why it is not.

I think we all come here for support and suggestions in many ways. For example, look at the Pet Palace - absolutely nothing to do with trailers for the most part. Sadly, Michael and Kat recently lost Captain, and bighornram lost Peanut. Trailer related - not at all, but they knew they could tell some friends about something that was hurting them and know they cared. We also got to meet Captain Joe's Levi, and Dustytuu's Annie May because they got new furry friends.

I'm a newbie here so I don't want to step on any toes either, but I think "Sitting around the Campfire" is like talking around the water cooler - whatever the latest thing on your mind is, you talk about it - good or bad, laughing or venting...

Sounds like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed. That's why I seldom visit here anymore. It'll be even less now.

Glad you got the pay issue resolved OZZ.

You are exactly correct, Ozz. This thread is for posts of interest that do not fit in any other category. This is where "Well They Are Paying" should be. As noted by others, if someone does not like a thread, post or poster...just don't go there.

Being a member of this forum, the Escapee Forum, Good Sam Forum and the Work Kamper forum I can tell you that this is by far the friendliest and most civilized of them all. It is actually a place we can make friends we may not ever meet. When we do get the chance, as Joyce and I did last winter with Jim and Sue (Ozz), it's a chance to have a great time with friends and actually meet them in person. Friends talk about other things besides their rig and this is the place for that to happen.

Doug and I are friends, I know others agree with him, but I really do look to the members here as friends, haven't met any nicer bunch of people anywhere. Doug and I talked and are good with things. I explained that I have few, actually no friends around here except a couple of customers.
It's all good.

If it doesn't interest you... Don't read it and it will die a natural death. IMHO

Sounds like a local church. A member embezzled $800,000 and gave over $200.00 to her church. Did they give it back? NO. The last I heard the small business owner was going to take them to court.
