The 3400RL is about 1500# heavier than the 3075RL but the pin weight is about 400# less. Must be a lot of that weight is behind the axles.

I installed the AirLift Super Duty airbags, and although I didn't need them for keeping the truck level, I have found that the ride is better. One thing to remember is that they will not increase towing capacity ratings, and the single most important item limiting what you can safely tow will probably always be the tires.

I put Firestone Airbags on our 2003 ford F250 SRW 4WD pulling a late 2006 3400RL to level out the truck a bit. Succeeded at that but have to keep them at about 40 lbs (loaded) to reduce the bobbing that comes on certain roads. Put on new Bilstien shocks to reduce that and they helped but didn't stop it. The only real problem I have now is the back end of the truck is a little higher than what I like at 40lbs or more in the bags. If I had it to do over, I'd try adding another overload spring instead of the air bags to see how they performed. My OEM overload spring on the truck never comes into play anymore with the airbags installed. I don't know if that is unique to the 4WD version or not.

I'm guessing that most people that are installing airbags would expect precisely that outcome. It would seem that ride would would be worse when on the overloads, as that would mean there is less travel in the springs and the only "give" left would be in the tires.

I installed the Pacbrake airbags on my 3500 Dodhe a couple monts ago, not that hard to do, and a really well made product
