Ha!! No, haven't found that 'Honey Hole' I thought I would get a few tips from the Cow, even after bribing her with carrots and a promise of a cool drink.. she was silent. I do think I heard a quiet snicker or two from her..
Prospecting was a tough life back then, I imagine.

Those were really tough guys, and more than a little crazy to go down in those holes day after day.

Ozz- Did the flare start the timbers on fire or just burn out?

It just burned out, must have caught in such a way that the flare was not on wood.
But... I have more flares.... :0

About the time you set it on fire, a bunch of mad snakes will be after you not to mention four owls and 27 bats.

Yes, I really didn't mean to start a fire, and won't do any more flare chinkin' because of the critters down there. No sense in disturbing an old mine site, people will come and enjoy the old mine as it was, and has weathered through the years.

Thanks for sharing Ozz. Brings back memories of the many hikes we took with a group at Voyager RV in Tucson. We usually had about 15 to 30 participants each week. We hope to go back.
