If you've never seen a desert beehive.

Took these shots yesterday at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum near Superior, AZ. The first is the way the cliff looks to most visitors from the main trail. The second is taken from the High Trail which, at that point, is about a third of the way up or less. The last two were taken with a 400mm lens to show that the dark spot with the lighter colored structures is actually a beehive with the bees at work. Here's the link:

I quit trying to do things like gather honey on the side of a cliff when I discovered that "I'm not the man I never was" some years ago. I already did a study for the government while coming down off that ridge a week ago. The answer to the question of, "if you slip coming down the mountain do you want to land on rocks or a bush?" was definitively answered. Don't choose the bush
