Fedex Spam E-mail

I just received an e-mail that appeared to be from Fedex about receiving a package. Legitimate looking logos with tracking numbers, etc. BUT poor grammar quickly caught my eye, typical of foreign spam. And it did not contain my name. And I am not expecting any Fedex packages. Wanted me to click on a link to get info for retrieving a package at ANY Fedex store.

Called Fedex and told them I thought it was spam. They ask me to forward it to abuse@fedex.com so that they could follow up on the source of it.

Be careful out there!

We've had those at both our home and store emails. Some from FedEx and some from UPS. The key is they usually are sent to multiple email addresses at the same time. Hard to have a single tracking # with six or more recipients.

Something else to consider - How does UPS, FedEx have your email address?

This is an old phishing technique. Old but still effective for the uninformed out there. Good catch.

jjackflash- That was my point. They wouldn't have your email address to begin with and therefore they wouldn't be sending you this type of email or any email when you think about it. If you check with those carriers I think you will find they will state that they do not send emails like this.
