For Those Who Have Not Done Their Taxes Yet
EDITED: THIS IS A POSTING NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING IS ALL IN FUN!
===========================
Dear Internal Revenue Service:
Enclosed you will find my 2008 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes.
Please note the attached article from the USA Today newspaper; dated 12 November, wherein you will se e the Pentagon (Department of Defense) is paying $171.50 per hammer and NASA has paid $600.00 per toilet seat.
I am enclosing four (4) toilet seats (valued @ $2,400) and six (6) hammers valued @ $1,029), which I secured at Home Depot, bringing my total remittance to $3,429.00.
Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the 'Presidential Election Fund, as noted on my return.
You can do this inexpensively by sending them one (1) 1.5' Phillips Head screw (see aforementioned article from USA Today newspaper detailing how H.U.D. pays $22.00 each for 1.5' Phillips Head Screws).
One screw is enclosed for your convenience.
It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.
Sincerely,
A Satisfied Taxpayer

Taxes filed and we got a refund. I'm just glad I didn't get that refund in the way of toilet seats and hammers!

I'm sure this was in fun, however I quit messing with the IRS. They audited us last year and sent us a bill for $17,500 dollars, needless to say I don't mess with the IRS. After much paper work and lots of looking for things we got it down to just under $3,000. This year we did the Turbo Tax thing and sent them a check for $1,500 and so for they haven't came after us. GBY...

I wrote four checks today...one each to the feds and state for last years underpayment and one each to the feds and state for the first prepayment for 2008's taxes.
Does that make me one of the nasty rich a few of our presidential candidates like to talk about??

Having a tax accountant for a DW surely pays off in the end. I haven't looked at a tax form in years and don't even care if I ever see one again. For some folks life is good, especially around "T" time.

Tom,
I don't know you so I don't know if you are "nasty," but, the rich part. I'd have to think on that!!!!
