Wow. Interesting thread.
I am a secular humanist and don't know what to put on my Christmas stamps . . . maybe a question mark?

I had not heard of a secular humanist, so I looked it up and realize that is what I have been all these years. Previously, when asked, I atoned to be an agnostic. But this fits so much better!
Thanks for the education. Oh, by the way, try the liberty bell.

I am in disbelief at how much intolerance this thread has brought out. This is 2007 people. America is made up of immigrants. If there were no immigration there would be no United States of America. Listen to what you are saying about your fellow brothers and sisters. We are all human no matter what we worship be it a God, door knob or your favorite pair of shoes. I am not one to push my views on other people. I don't go to church every Sunday. I also don't think you have to go to church to have a relationship with God. You can talk to him anytime, anywhere.

Now please open your minds and know that not every person of a different faith, culture or belief wants to hurt you. We have murderers stacked up in over crowded prisons. Look at Tim McVeigh...A home grown terrorist whom murdered 168 innocent husbands, wives, sons and daughters. We shouldn't point fingers. We are no better than any other country, ethnicity or religion.

The energy put forth to bash another religion would be better served by taking a few minutes to write a letter to a service man or woman overseas to thank them for their service which allows us to live in this beautiful land where we have the choice to worship whatever we want.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest. The more I read this post the more it makes my blood boil.

Heck, I thought we were discussing stamps?????????? If my statements were taken to mean disrespect towards anyone, I apologize. Along with freedom of choice also comes tolerance. I don't fault anybody for their beliefs but remain firmly grounded in mine.

I'm nieher Muslim or Chistian but have studied a lot of religious movements. Turns out, the Muslims accept Jesus as one of the great prophets. So, by extension, it is most appropriate for them to celebrate Christmas just as Christians celebrate St patrick's day. And, of course, there may be money involved just as there is for all of us. Let them have the stamp -- it's the capitalist thing to do.
