RVLock on full body paint - any coverage issues?
Have seen SOB posts elsewhere indicating the RVLock did not cover unpainted area(s) beneath the existing lockset. Really don't want to look at exposed paint issue every time we use the door...

If you can find a can of spray paint that matches the color of the new lock set, mask off right to the edge of the existing paint, then spray a couple coats on the unpainted surface. Let this dry until hard and then mount the new lock, and hopefully it will look like part of the new lock assembly.

I think RV Lock sells a decal that can go under the new lockset to provide a bit of additional coverage.

Here is what mine looks like. They did include a black decal with the lock, but I did not use it. This small amount is hardly noticeable and I think the decal would have looked worse and might have had future problems.

Thanks Scott. Trying to avoid the decal and paint option myself. If I were designing a lock to replace an industry standard - I think I'd size it to cover the original footprint. I replaced enough locksets of all types over the years and the ghost of the old lockset always causes problems...
I wound up ordering the Bauer Bluetooth keypad lock - will see how it goes.

PS: that is the Carmtek lock. There are several options out there; they probably all have a different footprint.

We had the OEM lock break on the inside, I called the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement at no cost and I sent them the old one back.

We installed the Latch IT. It comes with a rubber gasket to cover in case the new lock doesn't cover the hole or other problems. It was large enough to cover everything and i actually trimmed it a bit as it was larger than needed. It looks great.
