The Thetford toilets are known for continuing to run and flooding the campers. Google Thetford flooding...

Getting woke up from a dead sleep at maybe 3:00 in the morning to a toilet with the water running and the flush valve closed when the flush pedal came off is something you will only need to do once before you replace the cheap Thetford toilet. I replaced ours the end of 2013 with a 310, and since then, haven’t had to do anything to it, original gasket and water valve, and we are full time.

I have changed to a 320 in my last 3 Montanas, a 310 also in the 1/2 bath. It is not a matter of IF a Thetford will leak but WHEN! I ordered a 310 and 320 before leaving on our 1st trip, they arrived before we got home and the Thetford in the main bath leaked. A plastic bottle in the rear ~~ so common they have a $35 kit that is often stocked at dealers! Could not even last 1 trip.
My new 5er is a 2019.5, in 2020 models Montana has installed Dometic 320s!

Dang. I guess I'll get my plumbing tools out. Our Montana is almost 2 years old, sounds like I've been lucky. Thanks.

Ours did not flood but would not hold water in the bowl. Could not keep it clean. 320 holds water and sprayer makes it much easier to keep clean plus I like the elongated bowl. Had it almost 2 years of full time use No problems

Heading south last winter, first flush, snapped off the handle, installed 320, easy peasy.

Works really good!

Hey Guys!! Thought this might help anybody changing out a thetford toilet for a dometic 320. The water inlet on my Thetford was on the opposite side from the Dometic 320, as the pex coming up through the floor had no flex, was impossible to connect the water line, ordered a stainless flex line with SharkBite connector from Home Depot, it had a 7/8 inch pipe connector which was too big for toilet, ordered a 7/8 Male pipe adapter to 1/2 female, easy hookup!! Also the SharkBite has a shut off valve. Tried to upload a couple of pics of the two items, but can't get it to load!

How big are the photos and how many are you loading? Depending on your internet connection, location and status of the MOC server the time can vary from quick to very slow.

I just uploaded 4 pics, each were around 2.2mb, and it took 20 seconds. Give it another try, there are too many of us who use it, to think it is broken.

If you still can't get it to work PM me and we can figure it out.

Those pics are exactly what I used plus a pex fitting. Worked very nicely and the added benefit of the shutoff valve.

Haven't you heard? It's a COVID 19 requirement to handle the extra toilet paper which is causing toilet malfunctions. You better get a backup one quick! Last I saw the shelves were empty of toilets!

Actually, the Thetford toilet was running and the valve was shut closed. Caused it to fill and overflow the bowl. Happened randomly. I had already serviced the toilet probably 1 year or so before, replacing the valve flap and seals. Was time for a new one. The 320 was the best option I could find as a direct, 2 bolt replacement.
