Congratulations on the new truck and keep us posted on how it tows. What a great way to start the camping season. Did you get Chrysler's $3.00 gas deal or is that not offered in Canada.

From what local dealer said the other night, 3.00 only applies to gasoline engines -- diesels don't get the benefit (same as the lifetime warranty ).... if someone else hears diffently, please post!!

On edit - must add disclaimer here -- I heard about this just as they were announcing it on the national news the other night -- dealer had just received notice and was to watch a webcast / training session later that evening on it. I haven't had a chance to revisit them so they may know differently now!!!

Skypilot, You got me wondering, so I checked the Dodge site. The 3.00 is for both gas and diesel engines, but it appears that it is only for US residents.

I have the same truck and love it. I made my first tow, a trip of 800 miles when the truck had only 300 miles on it. No big deal.

I now have about 14,000 on it and it is great.

What gears do you have in it. I have 4.10s and usually cruise at 1700 rpm which works out to about 62 mph.

Congratulations on the new Dodge truck! That Laramie cab is nice! Isn't it. We have that in our new Dodge truck.
Good luck and many miles of happy traveling.

Capt Kidd We got 4.10's and have about 230 kms on the truck. This weekend we're going to Kelowna,BC for a quick trip and will have about 1000 kms on it when we get back home.

Don (Nailbender): I got to visit with the Dodge folks last night and was told that it does apply to the diesels as well -- as I mentioned earlier -- when they first told me they had just received a quick email / notice and were told it was being announced on the evening news with their training happening just shortly after that during the evening -- my sales man was not real happy that they were getting the information out after the announcement but he said that 'it must have been a very rapid' decision made at corporate. Reading the news the next day, it appears that sales for all the big 3 are down significantly so I imagine we'll see something similar from Ford and GM shortly. Regardless, for those who like / are interested in Chrysler products, it is a good deal (as prices appear to be headed up -- a great deal even!!!) (Disclaimer: I do NOT work for chrysler -- albeit seems like I'm there more some weeks than others as my old jeep gets worked on!!).
