Level Up Hydraulic Pump Not Working

So I have 12v to the solenoid but the pump is not working on my Level Up system. Could it be low hydraulic fluid or is it the pump (Ugh)?

Do your hydraulic slides work?
Download the MyLCI app from Google play store. It has manuals and troubleshooting procedures.

If you have 12V to the reversing solenoid (what I call a Thrombeta valve but isn't), is there 12V at the center post that goes to the pump? when you hit the Extend switch? How about when you hit the retract switch?

Yes, then the connection to the pump or the pump itself, is broken.

No, the reversing valve is faulty.

Cool

This is the flow sheet for diagnosing your hydraulic pump motor system. It will guide you to figure out what the problem is. I had to do this a while back, and it turned out to be a failed motor. Instead of spending at least $1000 for a new motor, I sent it off to have it rebuilt for about a third of the cost.

Good find Bob! I added it to the Files section as "LCI - Testing Hydraulic Pump and Dual Polarity Solenoid"

That troubleshooting sheet is in the MyLCI app.
Lots of good stuff in the app

Not specifically for Montana but the PDF is for Lippert hydraulic slide outs.. if OP has 12 volts DC on dual polarity solenoid power post and does the Lippert quick check for the solenoid and pump motor and it runs then he needs to check to see if he is reading 12 volts DC on the solenoid on the extend and retract terminals of solenoid when slide out switch is pressed..

This PDF might be worth a look... it’s correct as written and verified

Hydraulic System

Could be low on fluid. They tend to barely put enough in the reservoir. There is also a inline fuse (red) that you might check .

Tapping on the electric motor with a rubber mallet will sometimes cause it to run. At least it might get you out of a jam until you can make a permanent repair.

Try manually moving the pump there is a 1/4 inch allen head on the side of the pump turn that a quarter turn or so. I had this problem after the unit sat for quite awhile this did the trick and it worked immediately.

It was actually a 50A auto-resettable breaker on the back wall that quit resetting. The guys at RV Connections, Dothan, AL found the problem and fixed it for 7.95 for the breaker and a 1/3 of an hour of labor. Made me very happy. Now I will learn how to read continuity on a multi-meter.

Seems like the usual answer I read on the forum is to replace the 50amp breaker with an 80 amp breaker. Is this out of favor now?

It is still a good idea.

Actually according to Lippert technical service bulletin, lippert-0058, they say the hydraulic pump should be on its own self resetting 80A circuit breaker.
No need to change the 50A to 80A.
Just move the pump wire to its own 80A breaker. Then run a wire from the other breaker terminal to the battery.
