Our floor is 4mm thick overall, has a runner pad on back of planks and has a 12 mil wear layer with a slight texture to the surface. We bought the materal for $1.34 sq ft. We bought it from a Floor & Decor store in Ft Myers. They have a website. The name of the material was Signature Hickory. Good stuff for a small price.
No problem with the slides rolling over the flooring. No hang up, no sticks, no problem. Just take your time, measure twice cut once. Good luck

Yes, this is what I did. We replaced one of our sofas in the front living room with a swivel recliner and had to extend the slide to accommodate it. There was carpet under the sofa. We used peel and place vinyl plank flooring from Lowe's that matched the main floor nearly perfectly. Very easy to install, can be pulled up if needed and I would say it's weight is about the same as the carpet it replaced.

Nicely done, looks great. We plan to replace our sofa with a electric recliner loveseat with heat and massage. We will also replace our swivel recliners with new recliners to match the loveseat. Our renovation continues.
