Good morning. The major consensus seems to be between the Mid Atlantic and Goshen rally's. There is 4 weeks in there, any of the 4 is fine with us so lets just try to get a count for what weeks seems to work best for everyone and lock it in. And, should the dates run Wednesday to Tuesday, or Thursday to Wednesday? Whoa, one more thought there, Labor Day is in there, and I already know the whole campground is sold out for that weekend, so, to stay between the other rally's, we're back to probably 5-11 or 12-18 September, unless we go ahead of Mid Atlantic.

Also,I am getting feed back that 20 lots may not be enough, I will contact the campground as soon as we lock in the dates and tell them more lots, how ever many you experienced MOC'ers think I should reserve. Gets more exciting every day and can't wait for spring to get things rolling. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

We will not be able to attend in Sept due to family obligations(reunion), so we would just have to go to the Mid Atlantic rally. Still like the idea of going from one to the other!

Alice Springs is only 20 miles from our home and we have been there several times, it is a VERY nice facility. Looking forward to further information and dates so we can put on the calendar.

sounds like the 12-18 of Sept would work good for us--we would be interested in coming then
by the way we have helped with the Central Plains rally the last 3 years and getting the date set up is one of the hardest things..PM us if you need info--I am sure Rondo will be along soon to give some help too

Good morning all. There are a lot of dates running from mid July to Mid September for the Great Lakes Region Rally. It is 630 to 650 miles from Mt Airy, NC to Ionia, Michigan. I don't know how many miles everyone tries to make a day, but I'm thinking the last day of the Mid Atlantic is the 13th of August, is the 15th thru the 21 agreeable to most everyone? That seems to be dates a lot are comfortable with and the campground is agreeable for those dates also. Will let it rest this week and decide at the end of the week. Hope everyone is in a nice cozy warm place by now, I know we had a lot of heavy frost this morning in Michigan. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

Steve, I believe you have the dates listed for last years rally. This year the dates for the Mid-Atlantic are August 1st through the August 6th.

Very good point and thanks Dennis. The last message I had gotten from Jim was for the 8th thru the 13th, so I called him and your right. So that leaves us the 8th thru the 13th, with 2 1/2 days travel time from Mid Atlantic, or 15th thru the 20th with a week in between. So which ever everyone is more comfortable with is fine here. Let me know your thoughts on it so we can pin down dates. Happy Trails, Steve

Good morning kids. At this point the 8th thru the 13th of August is way in the lead. Any last minute thoughts we need to consider before we set that as our Great Lakes Rally?

Done deal Steve and Patti, 8th thru the 13th of August it is. And we are ready and willing to accept any and all suggestions for how to make it a great week for everyone. I do hope some are into Covered Bridges, there's one about 20 miles away, and actually on top of the hill going down to the bridge is my Great Grandfather's Original Homestead, with nothing left but the hearth and raised ground for the door entry. Will be checking into lots more sights and events and post as I find and have them. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and ideas, and looking forward to more, and meeting everyone in August. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

Good morning kids. Everything is in place and a go for the Great Lakes Rally, which I miss-named Mid Michigan, for August 8th thru the 13th at Alice Springs RV Park and Resort, in Ionia, Michigan. There is a steak house with a banquet room about 2 miles from the campground that would be available to us, if we would like to have a dinner there. The Pavilion and meeting room at the campground is always available for us also, just depends on what everyone wants to do. I will let everyone know when the campground starts taking reservations for the 2013 season. Any and all suggestions are welcome. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie

Update on the Great Lakes Rally. Like I already said, the steak house will accommodate us for a one or two meat dinner, priced very reasonable, also I need some feed back on three other things. 1st is a covered bridge on the river, about 20 miles away, Good idea or Bad??? 2nd is a Dulcimer Club has agreed to come ad do about an hour demonstration and gig, Good idea or Bad??? 3rd a Clogging Club has agreed to come do a demonstration for us, Good idea or Bad??? Just some thing to throw out there and see if there's any interest. Our lives pretty much revolve around music so we need ideas as to what others would like to see and do. Happy Trails, Steve and Susie
