Fridge stops working
I have a 2016 3820FK Montana went out turned on the fridge 4 door RV 2118 Norcold on electric to start cooling down. Next morning went out to start loading up fridge herd beeping noise coming from fridge. front panel flashing LI oP hi temp limit switch open. manual says not serviceable by owner. Is this true I ordered new part from The Norcold Guy.

Have you recently washed your rig or had heavy rain while the reefer was on? If so there is a way to reset it with a magnet. Google up norcold liop fault.

This is not too common but has happened to members before. Be sure you don't smell ammonia or see residue. That indicates a failure that can't be fixed with a magnet.
The basic answer id to use a BIG magnet and hold it on the box with the LED (while the refer is set to AC mode). Move it around until you find the right spot and hear a click and the LED goes out.

I second the magnet fix! Happened to me at Disney's campground and the magnet solved the issue! Good luck and I hope that's all it is for you!!

Magnet fixed mine as well. Happened to me driving through a terrible rain storm. Be patient and slowly move the magnet around.

I agree with all these comments had to do this also. just had to go through 3 magnets before I found one strong enough. good luck

Tried the magnet several times still doesn't work on gas or electric.

Dan,
Is your red LED light on?
Always a good idea to turn your reefer off before washing your rig. After you are done open the panel and let it dry out before turning the reefer back on. I learned this the hard way.

Yes the red light is on. I think I need a stronger magnet to reset it.

I found a better magnet and did a reset it worked with the better magnet. Thanks for the help.

Ours opened after a rain. The circuit board gas a tiny switch about the size of a pinky finger nail. Says switch.. hold magnet on it til light goes out.only if it got wet..

Happened to our 2015 3610RL also. I researched the issue and was originally told by a dealer that I had to bring it in to be fixed. Called a second time and the person in the finance dept checked with the service tech and told me about the magnet trick - woopie - it worked. However, I do carry a few magnets with me all the time just in case it happens again.
