Disabled Entry Steps

I had a locksmith come over and knock out the tumbler in the entry door this morning because the key was broken and I was locked out. Now the entry steps on my 2011 3100RL are disabled about a third of the way in. When I opened the door a few minutes to go out ago I nearly fell on my face with that extra long first step. I can't see how, but is the step problem somehow related to having to break into the coach this morning? How can I get the steps extended again and operating normally? Thanks.

Can't see how they would be related unless the locksmith put them in to work on the lock and didn't fully extend them when he left.
