Teflon Disc above King Pin

Can anyone tell me the good, the bad and otherwise about using the Teflon disc I've seen marketed, that fits over the king pin and eliminates the need for greasing the 5th wheel plate? It sounds like a great idea in theory, to not have a bucket-load of grease all over the place on the hitch. But does the teflon disc really work? Has anyone out there tried this? Thanks very much.
