Inside storage rates.
We are interested in storing our new (05) Fifth Wheel inside if possible and reasonable rates are available. We found out today that that dealership that sold us our unit is asking $2.00 per foot for inside storage at their location. For those of you that may have done this before, is this a fair rate or is it excessive?
Any and all comments and thoughts on this subject will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary & Carole

It sounds OK to me we were paying $1.00 a foot outside.

That seems very reasonable to me. I'm in N. California and have heard of rate close to $5 per ft for inside.

I am paying $2 a foot for indoor storage and I feel it is worth every penny. Up here in the Pacific Northwest we get alot of ice and heavy wet snow, so having it indoors from Oct 15 - April 25 makes me very happy. I also was able to get a discount for storing my boat in the storage building as well. When it came time to pay for the first month they said if I pay the full 6 months up front I would save an even more. I have seen indoor storage as much as $4 a foot. Again, I think $2 is a good price.

I am paying 90.00 per month for covered storage (not indoor) in AZ....45.00 for uncovered. Both are 40ft and super security.

That's an awesome price, if we had a place close to us with that rate it would be a no-brainer but we don't. So outside the Monty stays.

Thanks everyone for the comments. At the time we found out about the storage rate, one of the employees at the dealership told us to make sure we mouse proofed our unit, as good as we could. She told us to use "bounce - regular", the fabric softener sheets we all use in our clothes dryers. She said that these are proven to deter mice. Also, another employee told us to use spray foam to seal up any holes under the trailer. Have any of you had any luck with these softner sheets with mice control?
Thanks in advance.

We've not yet needed the dryer sheets, but we have used the expanding spray foam insulation to seal the openings. We did it more to help in cold weather than anything else but it should help the mice situation, too.
