Dick, customer satisfaction used to be their number one priority, but since the founder, John K. Hanson, died it has been placed on back burner.

It would be nice to get the company's viewpoint on this so we could hear both sides of the problems.

If this MoHo quality is typical, Winnebago may not be around in a few years.

Dick, when I first posted this on the MOC several weeks ago, it was a small but growing story about Winnebago and it's quality control problems. I watched the story gain momentum. I'm sure you saw the post this morning on rvtravel.com as their leading story as did I. When it makes it to this weekly RV newsletter, you know it's only going to grow even more.

I know every manufacturer has it's bad days and produces these lemons now and then. With the advent of the internet, facebook, and various forums and websites, A major manufacturer like Winnebago has to be more careful how they address these issues and the potential backlash that may arise such as this. Who knows, maybe Keystone/Thor is watching.

I agree! These peoples claims may be very true and exact however there are 2 sides to every story. I have found from years in business "There are some customers you cannot afford to have!" It's just a shame the internet provides people with a pulpit that is difficult to defend against.

The only reason I posted this was that in the RVtravel article the author claimed to know a PR person at W who wouldn't comment so he couldn't give their side and Camping World seemed to step up for this folks so something is wrong somewhere. Plus if you look at the pictures and descriptions some are picky (but if you spent $400,000 you may have a right to be) but some are bad. It would be nice to hear W's side of things, but I'll bet we don't.

This reminds me of a experience I had in 2003. We had a 5th wheel and were in our 3rd year of fulltimming. We were considering going to a motorhome and found a 2002 Winnebago that had been traded in that was like new. Being a Escapees RV Club member, been to several events where it was hammered into our heads to "weight it before you buy it" we took it for a test drive and drove it over the scales at the local truck stop.

It only had 600lbs of carrying capacity on the front axle. I called Winnebago and they told me I needed to run with full water and fuel for ballast. (both tanks were behind the rear axle since it was a gas rig)

We kept our 5th wheel.

I don't think we will ever get the company's side cuz then it would really turn into a peeing match.
