Adding to Steve's comment...Anticipating the hills and roll it up a little to keep things from working so hard is a great tip. I had to do this towing with my poor little gasser. If I took a run at the hill, I could keep the downshifting to a minimum as well as not have to lean on it so hard. Now that I have a diesel, I almost feel a little guilty using the cruise going up a hill, you can't really tell how hard it's working unless to try to feel the pedal or look at your gauges. Notwithstanding mountains or course...I just think it's easier on the equipment.

Re the tires and the question about whether they could withstand long distance towing at more than 65 mph... I know the ST tires that came on our Montana are rated for 65 mph. I didn't think about that (maybe I should have), though, when my Dad passed away and we made a 68mph to 70mph trip from Maryland to Topeka, KS. And again when my Mom passed away and we made a similar trip from Connecticut to Topeka, KS. No problems with the tires but I plumb forgot about that speed rating on them. I don't often tow above 65 but those were two occasions where I did for extended periods of towing.
