Bed Liners - Yes or No?

Having just ordered our 2004 3295RK, we are now in the market for a truck - I am saying USED - husband says NEW. He also said he read somewhere that you can not or should not install the 5er hitch into a truck bed that has the spray on liner. I don't think it should matter - what do you say?
