Someone in our little town won the Powerball!!

Good grief, they sold the winning ticket at our local market. The town has a population of 2100 and more than half has plenty of money already.

Have you asked Roy if he's stopped by the market to buy a ticket recently?

I wish! He had a ticket from Medford and not one of the numbers. That is OUR luck.

Just my luck. Nobody would sell us a ticket in the area we have been and the last one I bought was in Minnesota in September.

Send a message via MSN to Fordzilla
I hope it goes to group of people. Like an office pool or something like that. 340M is more than any one person could spend in a lifetime. Better to see it go to a group and make more people secure.

Not only the big one but apparently one of the $200,000 ones also according to the local news. So when are you going to Salem to collect your winnings?

Remember, If they take a lump sum (most do... but I don't know about this amount), they will only end up with $150 to $170 million cash after taxes... poor souls!

Just a note~ A US Rep from NH matched 6 numbers for $870,000. He was already a millionaire. Why do these guys buy tickets! I know... for entertainment, right? I'd probably just donate the $$$ anyway. Whoa... that will get me some PMs! Just kidding... I'd keep it all and squander it! My right as an American.

The $7 million per year was AFTER taxes. It is too much for my little brain to comprehend. They did just announce the winners, who are from Medford and shared the ticket with 2 other family members.

Nancy.... go outside and wave to us! Every television station I turn to has a reporter and cameraman in Jacksonville filming and talking to everyone they can.

Hey, Roy... that reminds me, did you see the top places to live in the US by CNN? They had several categories (Top Tens). One was the Top Ten Cities, Household Income". Number one was Great Falls, VA (suburb of Washington DC). I'm going to be close on this, but I believe the AVERAGE household income in that city was $166,000/yr ~ gee... I wonder where all the lobbyists live??.

Any MOC members live there? Hope none of you are dragging that average down... I know I would.

I am not in the upper crust half believe me. I could not afford to live here if I did not already own a home here. Small building lots are going for $250,000.

Margee - I am hiding out. I never go "downtown" unless everyone else is at home.
