6.0 PSD 350 quit today
My 6.0 quit today. Was running fine around town. Stopped at the library and no start. Cranks fine. Tow truck came and towed it to Ford garage. I just thought I would give it one more try. Darn thing started. Now I am worried. If it ain't broke, how can anyone fix it?

Sounds to me like the cam positioning sensor.

I agree with xthread have them do a diognostis on the beast. if you have a chip dont forget to take it out before the do the test or they will charge you a bundle to unplug it. Good luck.

Well, I am going to take it to Salt Lake City tomorrow as I have to have surgery Friday. Hope I make it OK. Will post my experience with the group and any fix that occurs.

6.0 has no cam senor problems, had same thing happen few weeks back the HPOP fitting is loose and causes the problem. Ford has fix for it, takes about 3-4 days to fix it though. What happen is the HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump) has fitting that fires the fuel injectors, this fitting has poor design and lets the tubing pop off, they know have steel bracket that fits it to prevent it from popping off. If it is loose and cannot build pressure then the truck will not fire, just spins over.

Good luck with it, remember when we could open the hood, climb in and work on our own engines?
I still have a 76 3/4 ton Chevy, nothing mysterious under the hood there, open the hood on my new truck and I am hard pressed to name many engine associated parts.
Let us know.

Do you happen to have the part number or TSB for this new clamp to hold the connections?

No kidding Ozz - same thing here. I still remember rebuilding carburetors and setting the timing by ear...now you open the hood and go - YIKES! You can't touch them without 50k in diagnostics equip...
