Thank You Dave and Jo-Anna and all that help them

I have been following closely the threads that have been running to help Dave and Jo-Anna find their truck and 5th wheel. We are just a little behind them in the process.

After months of reading this forum and others trying to decide which truck; I bought my new truck yesterday!!!!

It is a 2007 Silverado Classic 3500, Dually, Crew Cab, Duramax\Allison Diesel, Long Bed, LT3. This is the first GM vehicle I have ever owned and the first 8 cylinder vehicle since my first car back in High School.

I want to be like CAT-320 when I grow up.

Grant

Neat truck. A few MOC members have got that truck this year.

BirdingRVer...my but you have wonderful taste in vehicles! I'm glad somebody was listening to all the good advice we were imparting...David and Jo-Anna went out and bought a Ford of all things!

So far I really like my truck...parking it at home is my only problem. I have 3" on each side for the wheels and 1 1/2" in each side for the mirrors...fortunately, they fold in if they hit something!

Cat320 … I am more worried about where to park it at work. At home I’ll just take-up the whole driveway but, at work we have a small very full parking lot and I don’t really want to park it on the street.

Congrats on the new towmotor Grant! Must be a nice looking rig if it looks like Cats -(I snuck a peek at CATs in the test file). Don't worry about parking it, just aim, close your eyes, and hit the gas - that's what my wife does (thank goodness we only have SRW).

Cat - beautiful Montana as well! I envy your covered parking.

Grant--glad you were also able to benefit from all the good advice that these great people have been willing to share to help us all decide what tow vehicles and rigs to get. As for getting the Chevy dually, that's a great vehicle and the one I probably would have gone with if my condo association would have let me park a dually here. I'm sure you will love it.

Cat--just to show how great is my forbearance, I shall not rise to your bait and challenge your remark about my decision to buy a Ford. LOL!!! LOL!!!

Dave - of course if Grant bought a Ford, he wouldn't be worried about a brake controller right now in the other thread - NO FORGET I SAID THAT - DON'T GET IT STARTED.

Grant...what color did you get? Mine is blue granite metallic, with the dark leather interior. Going to be a tough ride to the 'campground.' This camping gets tougher every year!

Congratulations, Grant! Not everybody can have #1 but yours is a good choice anyhow. They all do a great job and when time to trade I'll consider them all. Good luck with it.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

We brought our new truck home this evening. What a MONSTER! It takes up most of the driveway! It did come with a full tank and we took the long way home and stopped for dinner just to drive it. I was concerned during dinner that I didn’t even know how to turn on the lights, I get to the truck turn it on and lights come on automatically! What a MONSTER, it absolutely growls when it takes off! I have gone out to just look at in the driveway three times tonight.

Along with the running boards (yeah, the wife can get in), I had them add mud flaps and the bug defector. It is just a beautiful MONSTER.

Nothing like a nice, new special vehicle. I'm sure you're gonna love it. I have an older ('03) Duramax/Allison model and was wondering what your dealership or others may have told you about the use of the new diesel formulation. I've seen warning signs on diesel fuel pumps that say '07 and newer diesels shouldn't use that particular fuel. Where do you find a plentiful supply of the newer fuel? I'm in California and have not seen anything around yet that indicates the new fuel is available.
