In the Navy we had a name for opening the flush valve when the tanks were pressurized, I wont mention it here but needless to say one of two people had to clean it up, the one who ignored the sign or the one who forgot to put the sign up.

Many years ago we took a trip across country in our new to us motor home. Other than breaking a shackle in Ohio the trip was nu-eventful until we crossed the border back into CA. All the sudden cars were passing honking and pointing to the side of the RV. I pulled over and found that the black dump bracket had broken and allowed it to swing down and grind itself away, yes we dumped the entire black tank (wife and 3 kids) probably pretty fill on I10. The worse part was that we were towing my wife's S10 and the drivers side was covered in little chunks of TP. Not my best moment.

A few years ago we camped for a week about an hour from home. Well actually, Shirley camped and I went back and forth from work.

While packing up for the trip home, we got into a 'discussion'. Not sure what about anymore. Plus it was raining pretty hard. I was not happy.

Our routine is she does the inside and I do the outside. That's worked out pretty well for us. On the way home we cross under a railroad trestle. There's no height sign but I know for a fact that transports travel down that road on a regular basis.

Going under the trestle, suddenly I heard a loud 'TINK'! Tink? What would go tink? That would be the antenna. Antennas go tink and get destroyed when they hit trestles.

That was when I found out that even though the crank for the antenna is on the inside, because the antenna is on the outside, it was my job to make sure it was down. Huh. And all this time I was wrong on who's job it was to lower it.

When I had a motor home several years ago I deliberately swerved to hit a can in the road and told DW “ I got that sucker “. When we got to the campground I found out was a can of red lacquer that I had hit . Entire left side of my toad (less than 2 months old) was splattered With the red lacquer. Using lots of rags and thinner DW and I got it all off then gave it a good paste wax job. Now I swerve to miss an object in the road
