Model 3255

My wife and I are seriously considering a Montana 3255. It's dry weight is 10100 lbs. I know that the normal dry weight for this model is 9690 lbs. so I am assuming the difference is in the extras. There are many on the unit we are looking at. We have a 2003 Dodge Ram, 2500 (3/4 ton), 8'bed, quad cab, cummings,turbo charged, 24V, diesel engine. I know that the weight limit on this truck is 12950 which is of course more than the unit; however, we still have extras of our own to add and are concerned about the western mountains when towing it. Any advice? Thanks

I am not at all up to date on the Dodge, but that number seems somewhat low. I know on my Chevy with the Duramax I can go up to 15,300lbs. Could be something different about your truck that I am not familiar with, but I would maybe double check the towing specs on it. Now I have towed my 3400RL in the western states and it is over 13,300lbs and have not had any real trouble. Just remind myself that going slower than 75mph up and down the big hills is just fine with towing the coach. I am sure someone who has the Dodge will be along soon to give you a better answer...

I don't think You will have any problems. My trailer is loaded pretty good and I hit the scales at almost 21,000 combined. Sometimes I have to remind myself there's a trailer back there.

The only issue would be pin weight and airbags will help the sag there to level the truck.
