Ford F250 Tow/Haul mode
Those of you with the newer F250 trucks when pulling your 5th wheel in level country with no hills do you use the Tow/Haul mode or leave it off? Also in stop and go traffic in the city do you use the Tow/Haul mode or leave it off?

Turn on tow/haul when I hook up. And it stays until I unhook, regardless of terrain or highway type.

My truck has 600+ HP and the transmission locks up at 45 MPH so there is no need for TH. Before I tuned my truck I sometimes used TH but not often.

We leave it on. That is what it is for. And I like the brake feature.

Always on when towing. Ford engineers put it there for a reason.

I leave it on too. It still goes into overdrive when on level roads, so it works just as well. Like the features

Always on when towing. It sure doesn't take you very long to notice if you forgot to put it on.

If you read the description on the message center on the dash it states that you will get better gas mileage if you don't us tow haul mode on level ground. Tow haul mode isn't required to be used when towing.

Always when towing and sometimes when not towing when going down steep grades in the mountains. I like the downshifting to maintain safe speeds and save the brakes.

Same here. My manual says to use it when the GCW is at or above 75% of the GCWR.

"The tow/haul mode changes a vehicle's transmission shift patterns. Pulling a heavy load requires a lot of power. The tow/haul mode reduces shift cycles. Depending on the truck, it may also boost torque and engage an engine braking mode to help drivers maintain control while driving up and down hills.
In general, the tow/haul mode changes shift points to higher RPM limits. This helps you keep moving as you haul your trailer. As you go down hills, you may notice that your transmission will downshift earlier than normal. This allows the transmission to help you slow down and saves wear and tear on your brakes, too.
