Grey Tank (I Think) Failure
We are on a summer long trip to New York (close to Buffalo)where we are visiting our daughter. We are parked in the driveway with full hookups. While sitting by the RV two days ago, we heard a loud venting sound or pop immediately followed by water dumping out the front underflooring. Water even splashed into the battery compartment up on the wall! There was some smell to the water (like you get with grey water - am sure it was not black water. I drained all my holding tanks. I have continued to use the black tank and galley tank with valves closed and have seen no evidence of leakage. I am using the shower and bathroom sink -- but with the valve open. I haven't been brave enough to close the valve and fill it up yet.I pulled the screws on the front and looked back toward the tanks but don see anything obvious. I lowered the front end all the way to drain trapped water out (probably a gallon or two). That water seemed clear and had no odor. My first question is what kind of failure do you suspect. And second, my local options for repair seem to be the Montana dealer in Orchard park (Colton RV) or a camping world in Hamburg, NY. Anyone have experience with these businesses? Finally, is my fresh water tank in the back of the rig where the galley tank is located? Any advice appreciated.

Where the fresh tank is might depend on model and year. Mine is in far rear. Tank failures usually happen with top of tank separating from bottom molded part...that loud pop. Gauges on rvs are cheap crap that never read correctly, if at all. Tanks are only supported on two sides at top...which happens to be formed by that top lip. You can guess what happens when you work that joint by filling and emptying that tank over time. John

we have the 13 3402.The galley tank is over the rear axle the gray tank is up front. We have blown two tanks in the same manner you have.
The tank has failed at the top and should be safe to fill at least half full if needed..

Thanks to all - think I will try and hang on till I get home and can take the time to fix it right. Hope the black tank hangs in there! It is a shame that Keystone didn't put in a quality tank with a quality installation.

I agree with jcurtis my gray tank failed last Feb. At the seam where top is glued to molded tank, repaired myself with help of two friends not too hard.
