Roller shades will not stay up in the back how do I fix?

Can't make the shades stay or any place, can you reset the roller?

Most likely the stops are broken. Will need to be replaced.

Thanks, we have 2019 20th anniversary and I'm not impressed with the workmanship on the unit. I had to find a chirping sound by tearing apart the bedroom, the detector was put under the bed, so it chirped and chirped till I tore the bed apart for starter. Anyway, it hasn't been used that much since covid mess up the world. The back roller shades its big is rolled all the way down and now I can't rewind it or make it work. I guess it junk. We travel with the shades up also. I was hoping there was a fix.

The parts are available to repair it, and you can do it yourself. I am not aware of the prices, I have to look into this as well next week as the shade in our bathroom will not retract either. Luckily its only a 13" shade. Good Luck

There is a video on how to adjust the rollers on the Montana website. It's under owners, and there is a series of short how to videos. One of those covers the adjustments for the roller shades. You could try that before you replace anything. Just a thought, good luck!

Apparently you have access to the Facebook Montana site where many here do not. How about posting a link to this video for us?

Thanks! I assumed FB not even thinking that Montana would have it.

Don't even start me on FB. I have it to see what my kids post but it is not my favorite platform for things like solving a Montana problem.

Our Rear window day shade unrolled.
We removed the Valance (easy). It was obvious what the problem was. The thin metal brackets that hold it up had bent outwards (red line) allowing it to un-roll. We removed the blinds from the hanging clips. Then removed the end metal brackets (YouTube) and bent them inwards so they apply inward pressure to the blind roll. Then rolled up the blind and reassembled everything. Works fine.

The big shade on my rear window was experiencing the bent end brackets like Daryles pic. I bent them back numerous times but they always splayed back out and blind would be found laying on top of the couch after travel.

I took a block of styrofoam and stuffed it up between the end bracket and the valence on both ends. It has not fallen since, and it works to retract with my gentle encouragement. I can't tug on it and expect it to retract on its own. I have several that are that way.

You can buy new spring systems, much cheaper than getting the entire shade, at. https://www.irvineshadeanddoor.com/

It is not hard to do and their customer service is great. There are even videos on YouTube that show you how to do it. Just search “replace Irving shade” and you will get several options to replace and/or adjust.
