New 3711FL and F350 Tow Vehicle
Officially took possession of the 2016 3711FL yesterday and hooked it up to our 2005 F350 Superduty Crewcab shortbed. Didn't have to raise or lower the hitch head, and the Mor-ryde pinbox was exactly where it needed to be and the whole rig is level. We must be living right. I measured the truck at the wheel well before hooking up and it only dropped 2" when we hooked up the Montana, which is 1/2" less than the Wildcat we traded in.
Everything that was in the Wildcat was moved to the Montana before we hooked up so I can't explain why the truck didn't squat more, other than the load is balanced better. The Montana pin weight is supposed to be a bit more and it's about 1,000lbs heavier overall. We'll take it across the scales at some point. We drove it home about 100 miles and I couldn't tell any difference between towing the Wildcat and Montana, other than the big grins on our faces.

We did not buy a new Montana......new to us! Went from a 29' Wildcat to a 36' Montana and was suprised that the Montana towed better!

Congrats on your new to you Montana. Scales will tell you the full story. Should be good to go if you had already transferred everything to your new 3711. Is your truck coil or leaf springs in the front? I thought they switched spring styles somewhere in 2005.

We also have the 3711FL most of the storage is over or aft of the axles with every little in the living room over the pin. I brought mine to the scales with loaded for a weekend camping trip and here is a link to the numbers
http://www.towingplanner.com/ActualW...&w2da=3480&a=2
The only numbers that was close is the GVWR of 11,340 lbs and my truck has GVWR of 11,500.

Thank you. I don't recall when they switched front springs, but I have coils on mine.

Good to know your numbers... it's been a while, but I really need to get back to the scales and reweigh things. it's been quite a few years and now that I fulltime I need to know what's different. Ironically, when we started fulltiming, we took out a bunch of stuff we occassionally or rarely used, so I think we are actually lighter! However DW wants a washer/dryer and I anticipate it will add some weight to the front pin and I need to know just how much since I'm that kind of guy.

So when in 2016 did they change the front cap and added the window. Mine has a build date of Nov 2015.
Art - That is the one nice benefit of the front living room is the more shoes the wife puts in the bedroom the lighter the pin since the bedroom, bathroom and most of the cabinets in the kitchen are over or aft of the axles.

Well, figured the picture thing out, now I just need to get one with the new rig. Took possession of a 2016 3711 last week. Drove it right from the dealer to a commercial tire dealer to remove the "China Bombs" and put four "G614's". Can't wait for the first trip. One concern I have is that with the slides open the awning rubs the top of the dinette slide. I am new to the power awnings so not sure if I can raise it up. I also want to put slide toppers on all slides but concerned about the anti billowing device if it ends up sticking upright. Only concern is with the slide under the awning. I want the topper because I sometimes winter camp and do not open the awning so want the added protection of the topper. Anyone have experience with a topper on the dinette slide on this model.
