Water Hose Problem
Does anyone have any experience where the shore water hose has corroded in the inlet bib connector and has broke off. This has left the threaded end of the hose broken off in the hose connector on the 3400. It is frozen with corrosion. Any thought on what to use to free up the remmants of the old hose and remove so a new hose can be connected. Would WD 40 or something like that work? Thanks

If you can't get the end out, you may need to consider taking the receiver out of your convenience center and replacing it. It is held in with three screws and the interior hose is screwed on the back.
Before you do that, try pulling the "handle" off the inlet connection so you can get pliers on it. Maybe you can get enough leverage twist it out. I hesitate putting liquid wrench on a drinking water fitting, but WD-40 is a vegetable oil base.

If and when you get it out, consider using quick disconnects for your hose. We've used them for years and found them to be very beneficial.

Here a a place to get parts if you don't need them in a hurry:

WD40 contains petroleum distillates. I would be a little hesitant to use that on my potable water supply. As some suggested, the easiest thing would probably be to replace the female hose end connector.

If the corrosion is white, you my try spraying a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. That may dissolve the calcium and allow you to remove the hose end.

John,
I'd use WD-40 and or Liquid Wrench. No more than MIGHT get into the hose and into your water supply would probably be so diluted as to not be of importance. Good luck and please post how things turn out for you.
