If I were looking at Ford. I'd wait on the new engine.

We are looking at trucks also, currently we have a Dodge. I borrowed a friends Chevy-Durmax/Allison and towed the 3400 for a couble of hundred miles. Made me appreciate the Cummings and take the Chevy off my list. Now to find a Ford to tow with for testing.
Now thats the way to test a tow vehicle, to bad the dealers dont have a setup like that I guess insurance reasons, but thats when you find out who your friends are, "Can I borrow your truck?" but what results and answers you will get. and not from a sales person trying to get there quota for the month.

My vote would be for the new LMM Duramax. I bought one about two years ago and will buy another if needed. THey are truely a great truck. The allison transmission is the best transmission out there in these trucks. The dpf on the diesels arent as big of a deal as some people make them out to be. You get a quiet diesel, no smell, but you get more power then the past generations. I have never owned a ford, nor a dodge so i can't really comment on them. Dodge has had its share of transmission problems though. My vote is for the Chevy/GMC duramax.
